Speedometers.live provides free tools and guides about measuring speed. Please read this disclaimer before relying on any reading or information from the site.
Speed readings are estimates
Our speedometers, trackers and timers use your device’s GPS through your web browser. Under open sky, phone GPS speed is usually close to your true speed, but it can lag, jump or stop working in tunnels, cities with tall buildings, under trees, indoors, or when your device limits location accuracy. Readings may be wrong without warning.

Not a legal or safety instrument
- Your vehicle’s speedometer is the legal reference for your speed. Readings from this site are not calibrated measuring equipment and are not evidence of speed for traffic offences, insurance or court proceedings.
- Don’t rely on the site for navigation or safety-critical decisions, including in aviation or at sea.
- Never use your phone while driving or riding. Set up tools before you move and use a secure mount.
- Over-speed alerts and timers are convenience features; they may miss readings and are no substitute for watching your own speed.
General information only
Guides about speed limits, e-bike classes, vehicle speeds and similar topics summarise information that varies by country and changes over time. Check current local rules before acting on them. Pages about running and walking speed are general information, not medical or fitness advice; speak to a professional about your health.

Calculators
Converters and calculators (for example pace, average speed or tire-size speedometer error) give results based on the values you enter and standard formulas. Rounding and real-world conditions mean actual results can differ.
